Serie A 2025/26: Inter's Scudetto Retention and Como's Miracle
Inter Milan retained the Scudetto in dominant fashion with 87 points and 89 goals scored. But the real talking point of Serie A 2025/26 was Como's extraordinary 4th-place finish — a newly promoted club qualifying for the Champions League in only their second season back in the top flight.

The Title Race
Inter were the class of the division from start to finish. With 87 points and a goal difference of +54, Simone Inzaghi's team won the title with weeks to spare. Napoli (76 pts) were creditable runners-up under their new coach, showing genuine solidity at the back — conceding just 36 goals all season.
AS Roma (73 pts) had a strong campaign in third, while Como's 71-point finish in fourth was a historic achievement. AC Milan (70 pts) and Juventus (69 pts) — both European heavyweights — had to settle for Europa League spots, just 1 and 2 points behind Como respectively.
European Qualification
Inter, Napoli, Roma and Como earned Champions League football. AC Milan (70 pts) and Juventus (69 pts) will compete in the Europa League. Italy's strong UEFA coefficient again secured multiple top-tier European spots for Serie A clubs.
Relegation
Pisa (18 pts), Hellas Verona (21 pts) and Cremonese (34 pts) were relegated. Pisa's campaign was dire — they were adrift from safety for most of the season. Verona suffered a dramatic collapse after a reasonable start, while Cremonese never recovered from a terrible first half.
The Story of the Season: Como's Miracle
Como's journey from Serie B to Champions League qualification in two seasons is one of the most remarkable stories in recent Italian football. Backed by significant investment and excellent coaching, they finished 4th with 71 points — above Milan, Juventus, Atalanta and Lazio.
Their home record at the Stadio Sinigaglia was exceptional, and they attracted some of the biggest names in European football to the idyllic shores of Lake Como. A fairytale that rewarded ambition and smart planning.
Looking Ahead
Inter will be strong favourites to win a third consecutive Scudetto. Como's Champions League debut will be one of the most anticipated storylines of next season. Pisa, Verona and Cremonese face Serie B.
